Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Gesture by Fletcher Martin for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,107.02). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fletcher Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Homage to Marciano in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 35,890.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Gesture von Fletcher Martin für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.107,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fletcher Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Homage to Marciano im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 35.890,53).
