This artwork by Fletcher Martin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2004. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Action At Second sold for USD 26,290.00 (€ 21,172.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Fletcher Martin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Homage to Marciano sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of USD 48,000.00 (€ 35,890.53).
