Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fletcher Benton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2007. In the Open House auction, the work Folded Semi Circle sold for USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,251.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fletcher Benton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Yellow Lilly, which sold at auction in July 2015 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,601.74).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Fletcher Benton erzielte im Juli 2007 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Open House wurde die Arbeit Folded Semi Circle für USD 7.200,00 (€ 5.251,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fletcher Benton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Yellow Lilly beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.601,74) versteigert wurde.
