Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Firenze Lai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work The Yellow Water sold for HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 209,424.66) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Firenze Lai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Weight, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 5,040,000.00 (€ 598,356.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Firenze Lai erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit The Yellow Water für HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 209.424,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Firenze Lai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Weight beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 5.040.000,00 (€ 598.356,16) versteigert wurde.
