This artwork by Firenze Lai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale auction, the work Folding Arms sold for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 21,912.69) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Firenze Lai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weight in May last year with an auction result of HKD 5,040,000.00 (€ 598,356.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Firenze Lai erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Folding Arms für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 21.912,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Firenze Lai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weight im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.040.000,00 (€ 598.356,16).
