Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Firenze Lai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Happily Ever After sold for HKD 2,625,000.00 (€ 287,604.04) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Firenze Lai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Weight, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 5,040,000.00 (€ 598,356.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Firenze Lai erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Happily Ever After für HKD 2.625.000,00 (€ 287.604,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Firenze Lai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Weight beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 5.040.000,00 (€ 598.356,16) versteigert wurde.
