Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Felipe Castañeda could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Amantes changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,286.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Felipe Castañeda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maternity, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Felipe Castañeda konnte im Mai 2013 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin American Art wechselte die Arbeit Amantes für USD 23.750,00 (€ 18.286,11) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Felipe Castañeda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maternity beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29) versteigert wurde.
