Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Felipe Castañeda could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary auction, the work Amantes changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,997.07) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Admittedly, works by Felipe Castañeda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maternity in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Felipe Castañeda konnte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary wechselte die Arbeit Amantes für USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.997,07) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Felipe Castañeda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maternity im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29).
