Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Big Black by Faith Ringgold. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,163.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Faith Ringgold achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Listen To The Trees in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 375,000.00 (€ 322,663.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Big Black von Faith Ringgold zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.163,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Faith Ringgold erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Listen To The Trees im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 322.663,91).
