Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Water Carriers by Faik Hassan was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Christies in London in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 48,839.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Faik Hassan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Baghdadiyat in May this year with an auction result of GBP 190,900.00 (€ 222,113.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Water Carriers von Faik Hassan wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 48.839,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Faik Hassan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Baghdadiyat im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 190.900,00 (€ 222.113,42).
