The work Desert Heat by Faik Hassan was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale auction at Bonhams in London in November last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,620.00 (€ 47,069.31), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Faik Hassan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Baghdadiyat in May this year with an auction result of GBP 190,900.00 (€ 222,113.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Desert Heat von Faik Hassan wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 40.620,00 (€ 47.069,31) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Faik Hassan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Baghdadiyat im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 190.900,00 (€ 222.113,42).
