Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Highland Cattle In A Misty Landscape by F. Walters was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 192.00 (€ 280.26). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by F. Walters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vessels off the coast at dawn and dusk, which sold at auction in February 2001 for GBP 611.00 (€ 957.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Highland Cattle In A Misty Landscape von F. Walters im Mai 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 192,00 (€ 280,26) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von F. Walters mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vessels off the coast at dawn and dusk beobachtet, die im Februar 2001 für GBP 611,00 (€ 957,29) versteigert wurde.
