Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction The Gift of Photographs, which included the work Marilyn Monroe: A happy day on location, "The Misfits" by Eve Arnold. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,563.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eve Arnold achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marilyn, 1955-1960 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,451.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Gift of Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe: A happy day on location, "The Misfits" von Eve Arnold zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.563,78) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eve Arnold erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marilyn, 1955-1960 im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.451,33).
