A top price for Eve Arnold - as previously expected
The work Marilyn, 1955-1960 by Eve Arnold was sold in the Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection auction at Christies in New York in December 2008. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,451.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Marilyn, 1955-1960 is the most expensive artwork by Eve Arnold that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Marilyn, 1955-1960 von Eve Arnold wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.451,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Marilyn, 1955-1960 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Eve Arnold, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
