This artwork by Eve Arnold achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June this year. In the The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection auction, the work Father Gregory Wilkins Mowing the Lawn, Kelham, Nottinghamshire, England, 1963 sold for GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,598.90) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eve Arnold - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marilyn, 1955-1960, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,451.33).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Eve Arnold erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection wurde die Arbeit Father Gregory Wilkins Mowing the Lawn, Kelham, Nottinghamshire, England, 1963 für GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.598,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eve Arnold mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marilyn, 1955-1960 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.451,33) versteigert wurde.
