Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Malcolm X by Eve Arnold was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,085.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eve Arnold achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marilyn, 1955-1960 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,451.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Malcolm X von Eve Arnold kam im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.085,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eve Arnold erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marilyn, 1955-1960 im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.451,33).
