Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Evan Holloway could be acquired at Christies in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Wildly Painted Warped Lumber #2 changed hands for USD 28,000.00 (€ 28,621.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Evan Holloway - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Right Twist, which sold at auction in September 2019 for USD 115,000.00 (€ 105,456.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Evan Holloway konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wechselte die Arbeit Wildly Painted Warped Lumber #2 für USD 28.000,00 (€ 28.621,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Evan Holloway mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Right Twist beobachtet, die im September 2019 für USD 115.000,00 (€ 105.456,21) versteigert wurde.
