In November 2021 Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Capo S. Vito from Alcamo, Sicily, 1844 by Eugene von Guerard. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 49,200.00 (€ 43,589.97), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene von Guerard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Great Lake, Tasmania in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,860,000.00 (€ 1,112,236.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Capo S. Vito from Alcamo, Sicily, 1844 von Eugene von Guerard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 49.200,00 (€ 43.589,97) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugene von Guerard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Great Lake, Tasmania im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.860.000,00 (€ 1.112.236,64).
