It achieved a price of AUD 480,000.00 (€ 295,143.09), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eugene von Guerard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian The Great Lake, Tasmania, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 1,860,000.00 (€ 1,112,236.64).

Die Arbeit Australian Cabbage Trees Near The Shoalhaven River, N.S.W. von Eugene von Guerard kam im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in Sydney zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 480.000,00 (€ 295.143,09) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Für andere Arbeiten von Eugene von Guerard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian The Great Lake, Tasmania beobachtet, die im August 2007 für AUD 1.860.000,00 (€ 1.112.236,64) versteigert wurde.
