The result of AUD 180,000.00 (€ 108,904.16) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene von Guerard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Great Lake, Tasmania in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,860,000.00 (€ 1,112,236.64).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Australian Italian Landscape von Eugene von Guerard kam im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Sydney zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von AUD 180.000,00 (€ 108.904,16) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugene von Guerard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Great Lake, Tasmania im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.860.000,00 (€ 1.112.236,64).
