It achieved a price of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,325.64), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eugène Petit - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The chase; and Stalking the prey, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 7,050.00 (€ 12,069.31).

Die Arbeit Spaniels flushing a woodcock von Eugène Petit wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.325,64) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Für andere Arbeiten von Eugène Petit mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The chase; and Stalking the prey beobachtet, die im April 2000 für GBP 7.050,00 (€ 12.069,31) versteigert wurde.
