Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Laverack Setter in a Landscape by Eugène Petit was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 384.00 (€ 444.97). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugène Petit achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The chase; and Stalking the prey in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 12,069.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Laverack Setter in a Landscape von Eugène Petit im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 384,00 (€ 444,97) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugène Petit erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The chase; and Stalking the prey im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 12.069,31).
