Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work British the Lovers by Ernest Shepard for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,917.77). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Shepard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin." in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 139,250.00 (€ 171,733.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit British the Lovers von Ernest Shepard für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.917,77) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Shepard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin." im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 139.250,00 (€ 171.733,92).
