Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Submarines: Men Operating Submarine Controls by Eric Ravilious was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,691.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Ravilious achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Aldeburgh Bathing Machines in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 269,000.00 (€ 317,393.55).
