In February 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street, which included the work Commander Of A Submarine Looking Through A Periscope by Eric Ravilious. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,207.18), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Ravilious achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Aldeburgh Bathing Machines in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 269,000.00 (€ 317,393.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street durch, in der auch die Arbeit Commander Of A Submarine Looking Through A Periscope von Eric Ravilious zur Versteigerung kam.
