This artwork by Entang Wiharso achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Upeti (The Tribute) sold for HKD 118,750.00 (€ 11,230.76) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Entang Wiharso have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Feast Table Undeclared Perceptions. in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 58,050.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Entang Wiharso erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Upeti (The Tribute) für HKD 118.750,00 (€ 11.230,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Entang Wiharso auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Feast Table Undeclared Perceptions. im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 58.050,00.
