This artwork by Enoch Seeman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2007. In the Important British Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of Mary, Lady Arundell Of Wardour (1716-1769) sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 15,752.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Enoch Seeman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Gentleman In Moroccan Dress, Probably John Montagu, 2Nd Duke Of Montagu (1690-1749), which sold at auction in December 2015 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
