Upper estimate price exceeded by 32 %.
In May 2007 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Spring Festival Offering by Emperor Xuantong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 66,000.00 (€ 6,284.55), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Emperor Xuantong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Five-Character Poem in Running Script in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,995.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring Festival Offering von Emperor Xuantong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 66.000,00 (€ 6.284,55) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emperor Xuantong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Five-Character Poem in Running Script im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.995,37).
