Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, which included the work Calligraphy in Regular Script by Emperor Xuantong. The price achieved of HKD 92,000.00 (€ 9,471.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emperor Xuantong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Five-Character Poem in Running Script, which sold at auction in November 2019 for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,995.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy in Regular Script von Emperor Xuantong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 92.000,00 (€ 9.471,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Emperor Xuantong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Five-Character Poem in Running Script beobachtet, die im November 2019 für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.995,37) versteigert wurde.
