Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Emperor Xuantong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2012. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 17,352.04) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emperor Xuantong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Five-Character Poem in Running Script sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,995.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emperor Xuantong erzielte im November 2012 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 17.352,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emperor Xuantong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Five-Character Poem in Running Script im November 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.995,37).
