Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2003 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction The Imperial Sale, Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, which included the work Coulpet In Running Script Calligraphy by Emperor Qianlong. The price achieved of HKD 131,450.00 (€ 13,689.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emperor Qianlong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Replanted Wutong Studio in December this year with an auction result of HKD 18,525,000.00 (€ 2,143,554.51).
