Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Paintings after Ni Zan by Emperor Qianlong was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The price achieved of HKD 5,670,000.00 (€ 656,083.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 5,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emperor Qianlong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Replanted Wutong Studio, which sold at auction in December this year for HKD 18,525,000.00 (€ 2,143,554.51).
