This artwork by Emperor Qianlong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy in Running Script sold for HKD 5,292,000.00 (€ 634,169.38) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emperor Qianlong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Replanted Wutong Studio, which sold at auction in December this year for HKD 18,525,000.00 (€ 2,143,554.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emperor Qianlong erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script für HKD 5.292.000,00 (€ 634.169,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 3.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Emperor Qianlong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Replanted Wutong Studio beobachtet, die im Dezember diesen Jahres für HKD 18.525.000,00 (€ 2.143.554,51) versteigert wurde.
