This price was achieved in the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emperor Jiaqing; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy In Regular Script sold at auction in April 2021 with the realized price of HKD 529,200.00 (€ 56,659.15).
