Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy by Emperor Jiaqing was auctioned at POLY in Hong Kong in July last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 240,000.00 (€ 29,947.07). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emperor Jiaqing; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy In Regular Script sold at auction in April 2021 with the realized price of HKD 529,200.00 (€ 56,659.15).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy von Emperor Jiaqing im Juli letzten Jahres bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 60.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 240.000,00 (€ 29.947,07) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emperor Jiaqing; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script im April 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 529.200,00 (€ 56.659,15).
