This artwork by Emma Webster achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in October this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Baptism sold for GBP 228,600.00 (€ 262,496.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emma Webster; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Glen sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of USD 378,000.00 (€ 354,796.32).

In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Baptism für GBP 228.600,00 (€ 262.496,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emma Webster; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Glen im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 378.000,00 (€ 354.796,32).
