Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Sidney in May last year. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Untitled, 1990 sold for AUD 34,440.00 (€ 32,093.93) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sidney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled, 1990 für AUD 34.440,00 (€ 32.093,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
