Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Body Marks, 1995 by Emily Kame Kngwarreye. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 14,760.00 (€ 9,604.08), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Body Marks, 1995 von Emily Kame Kngwarreye zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 14.760,00 (€ 9.604,08) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
