Auction result well in line with expectations
The work SUMMER FLOWERS II, 1992 by Emily Kame Kngwarreye was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. The price achieved of USD 189,000.00 (€ 154,538.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Summer Celebration, which sold at auction in December 2019 for USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit SUMMER FLOWERS II, 1992 von Emily Kame Kngwarreye wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Aboriginal Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 154.538,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Summer Celebration beobachtet, die im Dezember 2019 für USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10) versteigert wurde.
