Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, 1993 by Emily Kame Kngwarreye was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sydney in August this year. The price achieved of AUD 49,200.00 (€ 29,359.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, 1993 von Emily Kame Kngwarreye wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sydney versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 49.200,00 (€ 29.359,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
