Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work UNTITLED (ALHALKERE), 1992 by Emily Kame Kngwarreye. The price achieved of USD 126,000.00 (€ 103,025.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit UNTITLED (ALHALKERE), 1992 von Emily Kame Kngwarreye zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 103.025,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
