In May 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Velas En Capri by Emilio Pettoruti. The »bidding war« ended at USD 140,500.00 (€ 113,636.36), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Emilio Pettoruti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Concierto in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 794,500.00 (€ 642,591.39).

Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Velas En Capri von Emilio Pettoruti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 140.500,00 (€ 113.636,36) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emilio Pettoruti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Concierto im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 794.500,00 (€ 642.591,39).
