This artwork by Émile Munier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2015. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work The Picture Book sold for USD 293,000.00 (€ 265,350.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Émile Munier; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Le Sauvetage (The Rescue) sold at auction in May 2001 with the realized price of USD 336,000.00 (€ 397,397.99).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Émile Munier erzielte im Oktober 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit The Picture Book für USD 293.000,00 (€ 265.350,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Émile Munier; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Le Sauvetage (The Rescue) im Mai 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 336.000,00 (€ 397.397,99).
