A top price for Émile Munier - as previously expected
In May 2001 Christies in New York held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work Le Sauvetage (The Rescue) by Émile Munier. The price achieved of USD 336,000.00 (€ 397,397.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Le Sauvetage (The Rescue) is the most expensive artwork by Émile Munier that we have observed at auctions so far.
