Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lovers, Karen Elson, Paris by Ellen von Unwerth was auctioned at Phillips in London in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,142.00 (€ 2,482.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen von Unwerth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Parasol in May 2016 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 65,244.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lovers, Karen Elson, Paris von Ellen von Unwerth kam im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.142,00 (€ 2.482,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen von Unwerth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Parasol im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 65.244,72).
