In October 2018 Christies in London held the auction Post War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Watery Ecstatic by Ellen Gallagher. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,915.37) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Gallagher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deluxe in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 987,750.00 (€ 760,509.70).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watery Ecstatic von Ellen Gallagher zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.915,37) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Gallagher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deluxe im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 987.750,00 (€ 760.509,70).
