This artwork by Eliot Porter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2015. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Glen Canyon' sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,198.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eliot Porter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trees, 1958-1975, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,933.20).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Eliot Porter erzielte im April 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit 'Glen Canyon' für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.198,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eliot Porter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Trees, 1958-1975 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.933,20) versteigert wurde.
