This artwork by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December this year. In the British and European Art auction, the work St Bénézet of Avignon sold for GBP 6,930.00 (€ 7,983.09) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work And all generations shall call her blessed in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,683.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale erzielte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit St Bénézet of Avignon für GBP 6.930,00 (€ 7.983,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit And all generations shall call her blessed im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 44.683,57).
