Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Truth or Fiction by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,945.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work And all generations shall call her blessed, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,683.57).
