In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Romance by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 33,805.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2020 the work And all generations shall call her blessed was auctioned for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,683.57).
